Jewel Brown-Thomas, LCSW-A

Hi, I’m Jewel. I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker Associate (LCSW-A) with both my Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Social Work from East Carolina University. At my core, I believe healing begins with feeling seen, heard and supported – and that’s the space I aim to create for every client who walks through my door (or logs on to a session). I work with adolescents, adults, and couples – helping people from all walks of life navigate life’s challenges, build healthier relationships, and reconnect with their sense of purpose and well-being. My approach to therapy is rooted in evidence-based practices like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Strengths-based therapy, Person-Centered Therapy and Trauma Informed Care, but more than anything, it’s guided by compassion, curiosity, and respect for your unique story. My background includes experience in crisis work, which taught me the power of resilience and the importance of showing up for others during their most difficult moments. I currently offer both in-person and virtual therapy sessions. Virtual appointments are available Monday through Friday evenings (after 5:30 PM), and I hold in-person sessions on Saturdays. I accept private insurance (including BCBS, Aetna, Cigna, Allegiance, Medcost) and Medicaid. Therapy with me is about growth. It’s about working together to identify what’s holding you back, explore what matters most, and build tools that help you move forward with clarity and confidence. Whether you’re struggling with communication, feeling stuck, or just needing a safe place to land – I’m here to walk alongside you. When I’m not in session, you’ll likely find me enjoying time with my husband, our daughter, and our extended family. I love traveling, dancing to good music, reading, writing, and getting lost in meaningful podcasts. These moments of connection and creativity keep me grounded and inspired. Favorite Quote: “Grow in Grace”
